Getting Personal ~ A Perfect Introvert

Hi Everyone, I have never really talked about anything very personal on my blog but there have been times that I have wanted to but I guess I felt a bit hesitant. It probably has something to do with the topic that I would like to  talk with you about today.   I have gradually started to feel more and more brave to do so because all of you in blogland are such nice, caring, compassionate people. I would feel comfortable to have any one of you in my home ~ seriously! (Well, except there is this one blogger ~ NO, NO, just kidding!!) I would like to talk to you about being an introvert and I have included some photos from around my house because I couldn't possibly do a post that is completely decorating free!  ; } I happened upon a post written by Monica at The White Bench  entitled " Introvert? You are Perfect the Way you Are! " Monica says, "According to the   Myers and Briggs Foundation , there are two main psychol

Sun Dappled Front Door

I liked the way the sun dappled on the front of our house today as it filtered through the trees so I was inspired to take some pictures. I didn't plant a lot of flowers this year, but the ones I did plant  have been little troopers through the heat. I found these white impatiens late in the season for 25 cents per plant. They've really hung in there and are starting to thrive. I do go out and water every evening if it hasn't rained. A couple pots of geraniums . . . . . . as well as a hanging basket by the door and that's about it for this year. ~ hang in there little blooms, cooler days are coming ~ If you haven't entered my 'Dog Days of Summer' giveaway,  I would love for you to do so. A LITTLE HUMOR . . .

Farmhouse Foyer

I decided to try to make our foyer a little more "farmhouse-y". ( i love how we get to make up words in blogland ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I cleared off the little bench I already had there and just added four simple items that gave me that  farmhouse feeling. For the wall, I removed an old picture from a frame, beat up the frame a little bit (great for stress relief), and added a wreath. I attached the wreath with a strip of corrugated cardboard and some twine all fancy, schmancy like! ( love how this turned out ) I also added a plate and platter that I've had forever. And that's it! Simple, quick, and easy. Aren't little areas like this fun to redecorate? It doesn't take a whole lot of stuff or a whole lot of time. Old Box and Chippy Chair

Last week, we went to visit my sister at her lake cabin which is a couple hours from us. She took my Mom and I to a few shops in the little town of Carrollton, Ohio. It's always so fun to check out new shops and most of the prices were really good. I found this old box for only $4.00! I also bought this little blue chair for $20.00. I love that it has layers of paint ~ all chippy and weathered. I did clean it up a bit since I took these pictures ~ it was a little dirty. So I've been having fun playing around with my "new" finds. Like many of you, I love the look of something pretty and feminine, like these hydrangeas, placed in something old and rustic. Isn't it fun to explore little towns and cute little shops? ~ one of my favorite things to do ~  HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! • • • joining • • • SAVVY SOUTHERN STYLE ~ WOW US WEDNESDAY NO MINIMALIST HERE ~ OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY   FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE ~ FEA
