Master Bedroom

Recently I shared with you some bedrooms that I love  so today I am going to share our master bedroom and would love  to hear what you think. This is what you see as you enter the room. It's not a huge room but it works fine for us. This is the view from the other side.  The doorway on the right goes into the master bath -  I will try to show that to you soon.  We have two small dressers that double as side tables. You may recognize the bedding. It is from Target and I think it is just so pretty. It is probably too feminine for most hubbies  but mine is really good at going along with what I like. ( It took a few years to get him trained that way : ) ! I really am a girly, girl! A little vignette on one of the dressers.  I recently purchased this pillow  with the little white ruffles at TJ Maxx. I love decorating with plates -  these were purchased at a yard sale. I like the way they are hung  to imitate the curve of the headboard. Here is a close up of one of them - I thi

BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS

Hi Blog Friends! I've been thinking about painting our master bedroom so I have been looking for some inspiration.   I came across some beautiful bedrooms that I just had to share.   I really love a warm and cozy room that makes me feel like I'm at a charming bed and breakfast.    Of course I love the soft blue and white in this one. { via here } The wall color here creates a very warm and cozy feeling. { via here } This room is so charming with the slatted wall and curved ceiling. { Country Living } This room feels bright and cheerful. { via here } Love this lantern, soft headboard, and comfy chair. { My Homeideas } This room has so many charming details.   Look at the blue ceiling and the cute shape of the table in the lower right corner. { HGTV } Sort of a unique combination of soft colors here but they all work well together. { Country Living } I could be happy in any of these rooms.  They all have that feeling I love. Aren't they just so pr

Cherry Blossoms and a Thank You

Hi Everyone, We were in Washington DC recently for spring break.  I thought I would share some pictures of the cherry blossoms that were in bloom.  Aren't they pretty?  They surround the entire Jefferson Memorial! We also visited Mount Vernon while we were there.   What an amazing place!   We weren't allowed to take pictures inside but here are a few outside. It's such a beautiful and peaceful place to just walk around and enjoy.   It sits right on the Potomac River.   Definitely worth the trip. A heartfelt thank you to Robin at All Things Heart and Home for featuring my post on Spring Color.   Robin has a fantastic blog and she has an All Things Inspired party every Wednesday.   So head on over and show us what inspires you! Thanks so much for visiting! ~ ~  JoAnne

Flip Flop Season and a Feature

Hey all you flip flop lovin' wearers out there - I declare today the official first day of wearing flip flops this year!  A lot of you have already bared those toes and are floppin' around but today it's finally gotten warm enough (just "barely") in my neck of the woods!  I better get busy 'cause my tootsies aren't in any condition to be exposed  - I have my work cut out for me!! I am also thrilled to share with you that Brenda at Cozy Little House has featured my blog on her Welcome Wagon Friday this week!  This is my first time being featured and it is very exciting for me.  When I started my blog a few months ago, I wondered if anyone would ever even look at my blog, especially with all of the wonderful and creative ones out there!  I guess there is room for all of us - the more the merrier!  Thank you so much Brenda - you have made my day! And my thanks to all of you who have visited me and for the kind comments I have received - you're the best

Spring Color

Hi Everyone, I finally got around to a little Spring and Easter decorating.  Wanna take a peek?  To add a little spring color to this window, I made this banner just using card stock and a few other things I had on hand.  I made each triangle different but used coordinating colors.  Here is a close up. I found these cute little buckets at JoAnn Fabrics and the Flower Shop print at Home Goods. Just a simple plate of green apples for the table. I even added a little sunshine! : ) Love this bunny! I'm really liking the contrast of more delicate items like the little vase with the rustic old brick. Just filled this little cubby box with some spring color and blue eggs. Couldn't resist this little girl with her sweet pink sweater! Just by adding a few new things and changing some things around, everything seems new and fresh again.  Just like Spring.   I love that about decorating, don't you? Thanks so much for visiting.  It's so nice to be able to
