HAPPY THANKSGIVING

WISHING EVERYONE  A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING! ❊  ❊  ❊

A LITTLE THANKSGIVING FUN

With crunch time for Thanksgiving here in the US quickly approaching, I thought we could stand a little lighthearted fun. I found some images that might put a smile on your face, I know they put one on mine : ) The perfect Thanksgiving. source And here is Marie's version of a healthy Thanksgiving. She was so proud of her Tofurkey! source But I think she may have stolen the idea. source Gotta love this kids smile - and he's being such a good "helper" too. source I hope the guy in the apron shaved his armpits - just sayin'. source This looks like a disaster waiting to happen, right? source No words needed. source Umm . . I didn't realize Julia Child's cooking show was rated "R". source Apparantly you must have these items to prepare a perfect Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know how Grandma ever did it. source With her size 0 waist, I don't think Barbie ever  ate a Thanksgiv

A CORNER OF MY ROOM

This morning after I made the bed, I decided to do a little tweaking in this corner of the room while the sun was shining in. Meanwhile "The Boss" wandered in. I continued playing with pillows and swapping out baskets. This is his "I want some attention" pose. There . . . all done tweaking for now. Okay kitty, I'm all yours. SNOW IN OUR BACKYARD

This is how our backyard looked this morning. I can't say I was ready for snow but it did look very pretty. The kids got the day off from school. Can't say I was ready for that either. The branches above were so weighed down with snow that they were hanging right outside our family room window. It looks like we may be in for another long winter! Stay warm,

KITCHEN WITH FARMHOUSE APPEAL

If you like farmhouse style, I think the kitchen I'm sharing with you today  will really appeal to you.            F armhouse Kitchen by North Hollywood Interior Designers & Decorators thea home inc I think the first thing I noticed was the ceiling with exposed beams ~ and look at that gorgeous black stove with the brick surround!              Farmhouse Kitchen by North Hollywood Interior Designers & Decorators thea home inc It wouldn't be farmhouse style without a big farmhouse sink. There's open shelving and tons of counterspace. The windows that spread all the way across the kitchen are amazing.            Farmhouse Kitchen by North Hollywood Interior Designers & Decorators thea home inc Isn't that sliding chalkboard adorable? And I'm guessing that's a pizza oven on the right. I like the little breakfast bar and stools too.          Farmhouse Dining Room by North Hollywood Interior Designers &a

FAMILY ROOM TOUR

It seems like the room that I tweak the most is our family room.   It has taken me a long time to get it to a point that I'm pretty happy with.   So I put together a little tour and a little story to share with you.  I took these pictures a few weeks ago before the leaves started to change. It was on a day that no one else was home and I had time to "play house". You know, the kind of day where you can tidy up and fluff up a room and make it look all pretty. And then pretend that this is how it looks all the time. Because this is how you would love for it to look all of the time.  All of the pillows are plumped up and right where they are suppose to be. There aren't any remotes all over or crumbs on the coffee table. The throw is draped just so over the arm of the chair. Everything in its place. It's heavenly for a little while. But then something happens. It starts t

CHIPPY CHAIR MAKEOVER

My chippy blue chair has appeared in previous posts and a lot of you really liked it. I really like it too, but here's the thing - it looks better in pictures than in real life.   The blue paint is very bright and shiny and very gloppy in some places. So don't yell at me, but I decided to give it a makeover. ~ so here is the new look ~ ta da ~ 2 coats of ASCP in old white and lots of sanding. I added a simple design to the top of the chair and sanded the heck out of it  : ) The curvy bottom rung received a little accent color too. I'm pretty happy with the new look. Do you like it? Or did I ruin a perfectly good chippy old chair? You can be honest ~ I can take it ~ I think ! Either way, I do appreciate your visit!
