Holiday Homes

We are going on a bit of a holiday this week. Don't you love calling a vacation a "holiday"? Somehow, it sounds so much more wonderful. For me, a big part of a getaway is staying somewhere that I love. You all get that, don't you? Oddly enough, not everyone does. Someday, I would love to go to England and stay in a charming English cottage. source I think this one would do. Isn't it sweet? source ~ perfect chippy cabinets and stone wall ~ source I don't even care how small it is if it has this much charm! source This would do nicely for some afternoon tea! source ~ more stone, wood burning stove, oozing with coziness ~ source ~ another super cozy sitting area or "lounge" ~ source ~ love this loft bedroom ~ source ~ cute bathroom ~ source This bedroom is charming AND luxurious. ~ what a lovely place to end the day ~ source ~  then wake up to the smell of coffe

Black & White for Spring?

I've been dressing up our foyer a bit for Spring and Easter. 'The Boss' says "Come on in and see what the crazy decorating lady in this house has been up to this time!" (You better do what he says, cause he is 'The Boss' after all!) It all started with the Cherish, Live, Dream sign but this wall needed something else. So I found these little drawings of the lamb, chick and bunny and repurposed this black frame. My old window frame is on the opposite wall. I added a black & white bunny print heart and another  little bunny with a burlap bow. The brown bunny I purchased recently at Homegoods is sitting on the bench with a basket of pink flowers to complement her pink bow. I'm beginning to think she's quite the snooty little bunny with her nose stuck so far up in the air!! I never thought I would use black and white for spring  but I like how it looks with the blue

Mistake in the Powder Room

A few days ago I shared with you a few changes I made in our powder room for spring. But something just didn't seem right to me. I had a feeling it was the tall metal pitcher. It just looked too tall and too busy. So I swapped it out for this enamel pitcher that I already had. I like it so much better. I'm really liking things to be more simple, calm, not so busy. Sometimes I forget that. Even though I thought the tall pitcher was pretty and I liked the pretty spring colors on it, it's just not me anymore.   I'm still learning. My style changing and evolving all the time. Always a work in progress. So back to the store for Mr. Tall Pitcher with the little bird and pretty flowers. ~ have the loveliest of weekends ~

Spring in the Powder Room

Hi Everyone! Are you getting Spring fever? I sure am! I made a few little changes in our powder room  to freshen it up. I added some accessories with a little bolder shade of blue than what I had before.  I think the little touch of pink is pretty too. The picture actually says "Welcome" on it. I'm not sure if that is appropriate for a bathroom, but that is what I already had so I just went with it. The little crock is holding some pale blue eggs nestled in some  white beans.  See?  It's full of beans!!  HA HA! I know,  not funny. I'm doing a few changes in other rooms for Spring so I'll be sharing those soon.
