Entry & Foyer Tour

Hi Everyone, I would like to show you our foyer and hallway today. This picture is taken from the front porch so this is what you see when you enter our home. Come on in! I actually have two of these little benches. This one is just right for this little space. I have it decked out for summer ~ I usually change out the accessories for the seasons and holidays. The doorway to the kitchen is just past the bench. To the immediate right is the powder room. Straight ahead is our living/family room. The hallway to the right takes you to  our master bedroom. {Old pictures of myself, my parents, and my husband's parents.} Looking back, you see the staircase to the mysterious and scary second floor! Okay, not really mysterious but it is a  little scary. The second floor has not been remodeled yet. It has three bedrooms and a very tiny bathroom. We hope to start that project in the next year or two. Maybe one day, I'll be brave enough to show i...

Curb Appeal Before & After

Hi Blogland Buddies! I haven't shown you much of the exterior of our house so I thought I would share it with you today.  I always love to see what everyone's homes look like on the outside, don't you? This first photo is just a little sneak peek.   I didn't want to start out with the dreaded "before". But here it is, the way it looked as we were moving in..... ...and this is how it looks now. We removed the old shrubs and tore out the crumbling old sidewalk. My hubby and I designed a curved walkway and larger planting beds.  The walkway is covered  with  pea gravel which is a pretty inexpensive solution. We added a little seating area with a bench. And as you can see, we planted new shrubs and a couple small trees. A few flowers add a little color. Things are a little dry right now,  I'm trying to keep up with the watering! ** some more pictures ** There is still a lot more we would like to do. Maybe some shutters... window box...

Summer in the Family Room

Hi Everyone, I've made some changes to our family room recently and would like to share them with you and see what you think!  I created an arrangement in the fireplace, added one of my recently purchased vintage tablecloths to the round table, and changed some accessories and wall arrangements.  It feels more like summer and more cottage like to me.  So here are the pics - I would love to hear any thoughts, suggestions, ideas you have for this room.  It has taken me awhile to get it to where it seems just right to me. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ JoAnne Joining these lovely parties... Master Bathroom

Hi Everyone, How are you all doing? Things have been a little stressful around here lately. With the end of the school year coming soon, the kids have a lot of end of year programs and projects to get done. I'm always torn between how much I should help them  or should they do it all on their own.   Do you know what I mean? Anyway, I would like to show you our master bathroom today. When we moved here this was actually a bedroom/office right next  to the master bedroom so we turned it into our master bath. I've really been gravitating more to kind of a french farmhouse  style lately.  I recently changed out the mirrors to these that I found on clearance for $17.50 each!   This little box with the baskets is a thrift store find. I painted it and added the porcelain knob. I didn't take a before picture but this is the bottom of it which gives you an idea of what it looked like. It must have b...
