A Little Fall On The Mantel

Hi Everyone, I was recently inspired to change the arrangement that I've had on my mantel for awhile.

Below is a picture from the blog that was the source of my inspiration. It's from the blog, Vintage Whites. I just love the way Vanessa has used softer, pastel colors for her fall decorating.  There are many more beautiful, inspiring photos like this on her blog if you haven't already seen them.

So this is what I came up with, using things I already had around the house. I used a lot of white with some greenery and some real branches with leaves that were just starting to change color.

I found this autumn printable here. I thought it was so cute and it had the soft colors that I was looking for.

Here is my Goodwill rooster you saw in my last post. He looks so much better after his makeover with some white paint. Don't you agree?

I would like to add a couple little pumpkins  when I have a chance to get some.

Thanks so much for …

Our New Goodwill Store

Over the summer, I was watching as a brand new Goodwill Store  was being constructed right next to the Meijer store that I go to often. So when it opened recently, my daughter and I just had to stop in. I mean, how could we resist, right?

We saw this nice display as we walked in and then we saw a sign saying that everything was 50% off that day only!

Look at all the great things I found for about $11 all together.

I thought this little crock was really cute.

And look at this pretty covered dish ~ perfect for Fall decorating.

So many goodies. It's good that my daughter was with me or I probably would have bought more ~ I'm suppose to be getting rid of things, not buying more! She didn't want to browse quite as long as I did.  : )

Oh, I also got this cute wooden rooster and I'm giving him a makeover. You'll see more of him later.

I thought this outfit displayed at the front of the store was really cute too. But sadly, I am not a size 2.

I have a feeling I may be goi…

Little Things I Love Around the House

Sometimes I forget to look around and appreciate what I have. It's often the little things that I enjoy the most like a simple basket of white mums.

Or a mason jar covered in chalk paint with some  country flowers from the dollar store.

And of course anything in my favorite shades of blue.

I piled a couple quilts on top of a cupboard so I could see
them everyday.

And I'm loving some little touches of rosy pink here and there.

I'm always trying to cut down on the amount of "stuff" I have. I feel like I either need to use it or get rid of it. The cloth draped over my pink stool is actually a valance from the Rachel Ashley line at Target that I picked up a long time ago. I have never been able to use it as a valance so I thought  I would try it here.

I did a little more tweaking to my entryway bench with my recent Homegoods finds and a few other things in my stash.

Even something as simple as a pickle jar with some wooden spools in it make me happy.

Once I find an …
