A Sweet and Inspiring Kitchen

I happened upon this kitchen recently on the blog, Natural Calico. This adorable and charming space resides in Ireland and it's owners refer to it as their "economical hand painted bespoke kitchen". So many cute details like this chalkboard used as part of a coffee station.  And this retro fridge! Who wouldn't love that? I think the soft, muted colors of the cabinetry and the butcher block countertops are really pretty. (Not to mention that amazing dutch door!) There's a lovely dining area at one end of the kitchen  with a beautiful chandy that reflects in the large mirror. At the other end is a comfy sitting area - love that! I found this kitchen to be sweet and inspiring. I hope you liked it too! Window Treatments in the Kitchen

Recently I posted about my new window treatments in our dining nook. Our kitchen windows got treated to the same valances so I'm back to show you how they look. These were so much easier to hang since I was able to use tension rods - one of the greatest inventions ever! It's nice to have a cohesive look from the kitchen through to the dining nook. While we're in the kitchen, I thought I would show you that we finally got  a Keurig Coffee Maker.  It was a family Christmas gift and we are all enjoying it.  I chose the pretty white model. Then of course a rearrangement of the entire counterspace ensued and there was also the issue of where to store all the little Keurig pods. It occurred to me that my wooden box with the drawer might work. And guess what?  They fit perfectly! I think it was just meant to be - some sort of coffee  pod and wooden box fate : ) Now that we have the val...

Blue Kitchen Cabinets 2017

I have done a couple posts on kitchens with blue cabinetry in the past, after all it is my favorite color. It has been awhile though, so today I have rounded up some more  amazing kitchens with cottage style that also incorporate blue in  the design. source The kitchen above and the one below have white upper cabinets and soft shades of blue on the lower ones. This is a nice way to use blue without going overboard or ending up with something that you would get tired of quickly. source source Finding the right shade of blue would be key and using a lot of white and wood tones along with it creates a beautiful and timeless look. source source Isn't the kitchen above just so very unique? It has sort of a french country feeling but in an updated way. Wish there was a better picture of the script that's on the wall  on the right. source This kitchen is from Remodelondo la Casa and I've always thought the...

Farmhouse Kitchen In The UK

It's been a while since I have posted about an adorable kitchen so when I saw this one, I knew I needed to remedy that. This kitchen exudes farmhouse charm all over the place. Isn't the cabinetry gorgeous? And look at the checkerboard tile on the back splash - so cute! I have always loved plate racks and this one on the far wall is no exception. We can always use a place to display our pretty dishes, right? You also get a glimpse of the gorgeous Aga stove here. And here is a better view of it with its four ovens.  It's an amazing focal point for this kitchen along with  the tiles that show off a couple cute roosters. The island with its wooden counter top is nice and big  and it has a handy prep sink as well. See the large armoire like cupboard in the photo below? That is actually the refrigerator - love that! You also get a view of the eating area here with a collection of  paintings on the walls - perfect fo...

A Pretty Tea Towel

I have blogged about my love of pretty tea towels before and today I have a REALLY  pretty one to show you. The other day, I stopped in Sur La Table just to browse a bit and I love to  look at their pretty linens. Their prices on most things are pretty high in my opinion but when I saw this linen kitchen towel with it's soft floral design, I had to have it.  It's a great size too at 28 x 18. I decided to use it on my table under my favorite white basket. I think it adds just a touch of french loveliness if I do say so myself. The sun streaming in that day just added to the look and brightened up my day. Here is a link if you would like to see it on the website. Rose-Print Linen Kitchen Towel  $15 It also comes in navy and charcoal. ** no compensation for me ~ just sharing something pretty ** Thanks a bunch for visiting!                      - joini...

Spring In The Kitchen

I got a little spring decorating done this week. The table centerpiece is a tiered basket found at Hobby Lobby for $15.00. I thought that was a great price.  I have seen similar tiered stands for a lot more. As you can see, I filled the top basket with my favorite blue and green eggs and the bottom basket is holding some faux hydrangea. My favorite little table simply has some delicate flowers placed on an old brick. I just loved this tin when I saw it at Homegoods a while back. I have been saving it for spring so now it's making its debut. My kitchen shelves and the area behind the sink had to have some pretty spring color as well. The tins that I showed you in my last post added the perfect touch. I hope you all have a wonderful spring weekend and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
