A Sweet and Inspiring Kitchen

I happened upon this kitchen recently on the blog, Natural Calico. This adorable and charming space resides in Ireland and it's owners refer to it as their "economical hand painted bespoke kitchen". So many cute details like this chalkboard used as part of a coffee station.  And this retro fridge! Who wouldn't love that? I think the soft, muted colors of the cabinetry and the butcher block countertops are really pretty. (Not to mention that amazing dutch door!) There's a lovely dining area at one end of the kitchen  with a beautiful chandy that reflects in the large mirror. At the other end is a comfy sitting area - love that! I found this kitchen to be sweet and inspiring. I hope you liked it too! Blue Kitchen Cabinets 2017

I have done a couple posts on kitchens with blue cabinetry in the past, after all it is my favorite color. It has been awhile though, so today I have rounded up some more  amazing kitchens with cottage style that also incorporate blue in  the design. source The kitchen above and the one below have white upper cabinets and soft shades of blue on the lower ones. This is a nice way to use blue without going overboard or ending up with something that you would get tired of quickly. source source Finding the right shade of blue would be key and using a lot of white and wood tones along with it creates a beautiful and timeless look. source source Isn't the kitchen above just so very unique? It has sort of a french country feeling but in an updated way. Wish there was a better picture of the script that's on the wall  on the right. source This kitchen is from Remodelondo la Casa and I've always thought the...

Farmhouse Kitchen In The UK

It's been a while since I have posted about an adorable kitchen so when I saw this one, I knew I needed to remedy that. This kitchen exudes farmhouse charm all over the place. Isn't the cabinetry gorgeous? And look at the checkerboard tile on the back splash - so cute! I have always loved plate racks and this one on the far wall is no exception. We can always use a place to display our pretty dishes, right? You also get a glimpse of the gorgeous Aga stove here. And here is a better view of it with its four ovens.  It's an amazing focal point for this kitchen along with  the tiles that show off a couple cute roosters. The island with its wooden counter top is nice and big  and it has a handy prep sink as well. See the large armoire like cupboard in the photo below? That is actually the refrigerator - love that! You also get a view of the eating area here with a collection of  paintings on the walls - perfect fo...

Rustic Cottage Kitchen

I recently saw this gorgeous kitchen in a magazine. I just love the rustic brick and the wood beams.  And those light fixtures!  I would never have chosen them myself but they look amazing, don't they? You get a closer view of the lighting in the picture below. Actually, this is the picture that originally caught my attention because the soft blue of the island jumped right out at me ~ no surprise there! And I really like how it looks with the warm tones of the granite which is another thing I would not have chosen but I'm loving the combination. There is definitely no shortage of storage space either. Right off of the kitchen is a wonderful butler's pantry with more cabinetry  and a pantry with sliding barn doors.  The doors were salvaged from an old barn. Here is the living room and you can see how it flows beautifully with the kitchen. The whole family can be together and it would be great for company too. Th...

Cottage Kitchens for Christmas

My favorite room to decorate for Christmas is the kitchen. I also love to see other cottage style kitchens and how they are decked out for the holidays. Here are some that I found that have that special something that makes them so welcoming, especially at this time of the year. source So cute how the ornaments (or cookies?) are hanging from a branch in the window. source Isn't this island wonderful? All it needs is a big wreath to say Christmas. source source source This kitchen has a lot going on ~ I love all of the red! source source I really love every one of these. I hope you all enjoy this last week leading up to Christmas. Christmas Eve is one week from today. Thanks so much for taking some time out to visit!               - joining - MY ROMANTIC HOME ~ SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH ~ MET MONDAY

European Inspired Kitchens

Our trip to Europe has inspired me to do a post on European inspired kitchens especially since finding inspirational pictures of kitchens is one of my favorite things to do! I hope you like these. Roosters have been a staple in french country kitchens for a long time. I love how they are used in a subtle way here with the pretty mural above the range and just a couple ceramic roosters on the counter.
