Cottage Kitchens for Christmas

My favorite room to decorate for Christmas is the kitchen.
I also love to see other cottage style kitchens and how they are decked out for the holidays.
Here are some that I found that have that special something that makes them
so welcoming, especially at this time of the year.

So cute how the ornaments (or cookies?) are hanging from a branch in the window.

Isn't this island wonderful?
All it needs is a big wreath to say Christmas.

This kitchen has a lot going on ~ I love all of the red!

I really love every one of these.

I hope you all enjoy this last week leading up to Christmas.
Christmas Eve is one week from today.
Thanks so much for taking some time out to visit!

  1. I hope your family has a Merry Christmas.

  2. Oh so do I, Jo! Every single one is awesome - but I am partial to the first pick with light blue cabs - how neat is that? I bet you ADORE that, knowing how much you love your blue! : - )

    Merry Christmas, sweet lady! ♥

  3. I love the branch with the Christmas cookies hanging on it in the window! Have a Merry Christmas, JoAnne.

  4. All of these JoAnne are just beautiful. They are bright, cheerful and so inviting for the holidays.
    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

  5. JoAnne you have found the most magical holiday cottages to share with us. I greatly enjoyed them. Wishing you the merriest celebration yet with family and loved ones.

  6. Lovely inspiration pictures! Have a great time for this holiday season!

  7. My two favorites are the last and second to last. The second to last reminds me of a scene from a Hallmark movie!! Lol!! Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones!! xo

Blue Kitchen Cabinets 2017

I have done a couple posts on kitchens with
blue cabinetry in the past, after all it is my favorite color.
It has been awhile though, so today I have rounded up some more
amazing kitchens with cottage style that also incorporate blue in
 the design.
The kitchen above and the one below have white upper cabinets and soft shades of blue on the lower ones. This is a nice way to use blue without going overboard or ending up with something that you would get tired of quickly.
Finding the right shade of blue would be key and using a lot of white and wood tones along with it creates a beautiful and timeless look.
Isn't the kitchen above just so very unique? It has sort of a french country feeling but in an updated way. Wish there was a better picture of the script that's on the wall  on the right.
This kitchen is from Remodelondo la Casa and I've always thought the watery blue/green color on the island is just so pretty.

Family Room Reveal

Hello Everyone!
I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm
 finally doing it - yeah!!
I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I  saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold.   It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room.

As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us.
I'm at a point where I don't want to buy expensive furniture that I feel like I
have to keep forever.   We even had the sofa delivered and they took away the old sofa and loveseat  for a very small fee.

We purchased this dresser from Wayfair to use as a TV console an…
