Cottage Kitchens for Christmas

My favorite room to decorate for Christmas is the kitchen.
I also love to see other cottage style kitchens and how they are decked out for the holidays.
Here are some that I found that have that special something that makes them
so welcoming, especially at this time of the year.

So cute how the ornaments (or cookies?) are hanging from a branch in the window.

Isn't this island wonderful?
All it needs is a big wreath to say Christmas.

This kitchen has a lot going on ~ I love all of the red!

I really love every one of these.

I hope you all enjoy this last week leading up to Christmas.
Christmas Eve is one week from today.
Thanks so much for taking some time out to visit!

Family Room Reveal

Hello Everyone!
I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm
 finally doing it - yeah!!
I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I  saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold.   It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room.

As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us.
I'm at a point where I don't want to buy expensive furniture that I feel like I
have to keep forever.   We even had the sofa delivered and they took away the old sofa and loveseat  for a very small fee.

We purchased this dresser from Wayfair to use as a TV console an…

A HOUSE ON A LAKE

Many of us dream of having a beach house but when you don't live anywhere near the ocean, a house on a lake might be a more realistic possibility. Lake houses or cabins tend to be a little more rustic and cozy, I think, and there's something to be said for being surrounded by tall trees, the sounds of nature, and possibly a few critters. Here are a few lake houses I found on Houzz.   Some small, some bigger, some more rustic than others. Take a look and let me know what you think.
