We recently returned from our annual vacation with my hubby's family.
We go to a cute little beach town in the state of Delaware.
I'm not sure how many years they have been going there, but I
have been a part of it for 25 years.
I love taking walks while we are there and admiring all of the charming homes.
The climate with its warm and moist air is perfect for flowers and greenery.
You see a lot of beautiful hydrangeas and some of them are huge.
Isn't this pink screened door pretty?
Many of the houses have screened porches and a lot of
them are on the front of the house - love that!
You can see the colonial influence in a lot of the architecture.
I thought the black shuttered door leading to this porch looked really
classic and crisp.
White picket fences are a common sight.
See the fish shaped adirondack chair in this front yard? Too cute!
I bet the new siding on this house will weather to a nice silver gray.
This home looks like it has recently been remodeled and you can see
the farmhouse influence that is so popular now.
This little cottage looked so charming peaking through the trees.
Doesn't this house look like it should belong to a sea captain?
I love the balcony and the whale sign that's attached to the house.
Since we are at the beach, I thought the least I could do is show it to you.
Yep, I'll take one of those cute cottages and a spot on the beach!!
How about you?
Do you have any plans for a beach vacation this summer?
Thanks a bunch for visiting!

What a treat Joanne to be able to vacation AND see beautiful homes. It looks like a place in a story book.

DeleteI love these houses and they hydrangea! Beautiful! I like the colonial influence as well!
ReplyDeleteI love every one of these homes!! I think the little blue cottage is at the top of my list. I expect Snow White to be waving from the front door. :) We're leaving the beginning of July for a road trip to a couple of different beaches and really looking forward to it. :) Have a beautiful weekend!! xo

Such a sweet little town and oh these cottages and those hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteNow, this is how a hydrangea is suppose to look! Mine were glorious about 2 weeks ago-but Texas sun is brutal.
Loved this endearing post and thank you so much for sharing it with us at TOHOT!

DeleteHi Joanne, First time here from Bloggers of 40. One of my dreams is to have a quaint beach cottage in the New England area, and a white picket fence. So guess which one out of your images I loved most? Oh my, I would love to see inside it!

ReplyDeleteOh, those cottages are charming!
ReplyDeleteFun tour, I love architecture that is related to the location environment. Gorgeous pics, thanks for sharing. Sandi
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this tour! I've never been to Delaware before. I had no idea that beach town was so charming! I love cottages like those. They have so much personality. I love the porches and the fish adirondack chair was adorable. We haven't been to the beach yet this summer. I think we may go in the Fall instead. This summer has gotten away from us too fast to find something at this late date. School starts back in early August too! I will vacation vicariously through your pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh Jo these are absolutely charming! I am so glad you 3were able to get away - hope it was cooler and fun for you there!
ReplyDeleteI miss the water so much.
Hugs. ♥
