IKEA IS COMING TO TOWN

I'm so excited!
I recently heard that an Ikea is going to be built close to where I live.
It's suppose to open in 2017.
It will only be about a 15 minute drive for me compared to 2 hours
to get to the closest one now.
Of course this news prompted about a 2 hour marathon perusing
everything on the Ikea website.

Here are a few things that I really liked.
RISATORP Utility Cart  $59.99

GARNERA Serving Stand  $19.99

So many great things ~ I could be in big trouble!
Good thing the prices are so good, right?

Thanks A Bunch For Visiting!

  8. I'm so jealous! The nearest one to me is about 2 hours and I've only been once. I often browse the website thinking I'll make the trip and then never go.

Family Room Reveal

Hello Everyone!
I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm
 finally doing it - yeah!!
I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I  saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold.   It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room.

As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us.
I'm at a point where I don't want to buy expensive furniture that I feel like I
have to keep forever.   We even had the sofa delivered and they took away the old sofa and loveseat  for a very small fee.

We purchased this dresser from Wayfair to use as a TV console an…

A HOUSE ON A LAKE

Many of us dream of having a beach house but when you don't live anywhere near the ocean, a house on a lake might be a more realistic possibility. Lake houses or cabins tend to be a little more rustic and cozy, I think, and there's something to be said for being surrounded by tall trees, the sounds of nature, and possibly a few critters. Here are a few lake houses I found on Houzz.   Some small, some bigger, some more rustic than others. Take a look and let me know what you think.

A Sweet and Inspiring Kitchen

I happened upon this kitchen recently on the blog, Natural Calico. This adorable and charming space resides in Ireland and it's owners refer to it as their "economical hand painted bespoke kitchen".

So many cute details like this chalkboard used as part of a coffee station.

And this retro fridge! Who wouldn't love that?

I think the soft, muted colors of the cabinetry and the butcher block countertops are really pretty. (Not to mention that amazing dutch door!)

There's a lovely dining area at one end of the kitchen  with a beautiful chandy that reflects in the large mirror.

At the other end is a comfy sitting area - love that!

I found this kitchen to be sweet and inspiring. I hope you liked it too!
Have a wonderful day!!
