We had our kitchen remodeled about a year after we moved in. It had not been updated other than some cosmetic changes since the house was built in 1959. We used our basement laundry room as a make shift kitchen and ate our share of sawdust during that time but it sure was worth it. We've been loving it ever since. Take a look!

The kitchen is at the front of the house with a lot of windows. It's really nice to be able to see everything that is going on and it's easy to watch for the school bus in the mornings.
Let me know what you think. I chose everything myself so you can imagine the anxiety and nail biting that was done hoping it would all come together. **I would LOVE to hear from!** Your comments are really appreciated!

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through a friend. I LOVE your kitchen! I've been looking around for inspiration for mine. We bought the house I grew up in from my mom last year and have flipped a lot of it. Still have much to go. I am about to strip the varnish, sand, and paint our kitchen cabinets. I WANT THE COLOR ON YOUR CABINETS. Did you paint or replace them? If you painted do you remember the color you used? I hope you see this comment. I don't know how old your post is.
Thanks!
Nikki

Your kitchen is just gorgeous! Sure love that open shelf.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with your kitchen. I love the cabinets and the color of the cabinets. I redid my kitchen last year and just redid the counters, sink, floors and had the cabinets painted white. It made a huge difference cause our kitchen had the original sink and yucky counters. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this kitchen remodel! I'm in the process of planning my Northern Virginia kitchen remodeling, and I've been so attached to the idea of doing a 1950s retro-style kitchen with pale yellow and robin's-egg-blue appliances (like your KitchenAid mixer!!). The more I scan through pictures of other remodeling projects, the more giddy I get to start my own...but the kitchen is my favorite room of the house, so I've got to make sure I do exactly what I want with it! I just love the nostalgia and fun colors of the 1950s era; but would I want it as my entire kitchen? *sigh, darn this indecisiveness! Oh well - thank you for the ideas! I can't wait to settle on a plan and get started! :D
