Don't you just love yummy desserts? I sure do but I am always trying to find something with less calories but still satisfies my craving for sweets. I recently discovered Truvia® Baking Blend which is a blend of Truvia® natural sweetener and sugar. It has 75% fewer calories than sugar but with still provide a sugar-like texture and moistness in your baked goods. Love that!
We all know how quickly the holidays are approaching and like many of you, I will be doing some baking. This year I am going to try some of the recipes on the Truvia® website. One recipe that I definitely want to make is the Cranberry Orange Muffins.

Here are the ingredients you will need:
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

1⁄2 tsp salt
1⁄2 tsp baking soda
1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
⅓ cup Truvia® Baking Blend
1 Tbsp orange zest
1⁄2 cup orange juice
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1⁄2 cup skim milk
1 1⁄2 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen), chopped
This is what you will need to do:

2.Prepare muffin tin by greasing cups or use paper liners.
3.In a large bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Mix together with a fork.
4.In a separate bowl, whisk together butter, Truvia® Baking Blend, orange zest and juice, eggs, vanilla and milk.
5.Stir the wet mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
6.Fold in chopped cranberries.
7.Fill each muffin cup about 3⁄4 full.
8.Bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean (20–25 minutes).
9.Cool muffins in pan for 5 minutes, then remove to a wire rack and cool completely.

These muffins look so good and I think they would be perfect on Christmas morning. Each muffin has 190 calories and 4 grams of sugar compared to 210 calories and 13 grams of sugar for a traditional muffin.
A 1.5 pound bag of Truvia® Baking Blend provides the same amount of sweetness as a 3 pound bag of sugar and it comes in a recloseable bag with an easy-to-use pour spout. Visit the Truvia® website for more tips and information on Truvia® Baking Blend. It is available in stores nationwide.
Do you have a favorite holiday recipe that you would like to recreate using Truvia® Baking Blend?
I would love to hear about it!
