Hello Everyone! I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm finally doing it - yeah!! I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold. It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room. As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us. I'm at a point where I don't want to buy expensive furniture that I feel like I have to keep forever. We even had the sofa delivered and they took away the old sofa and loveseat for a very small fee. We purchased...
The second one looks like the old Corning Ware pattern! They are all so neat...are they all from World Market? I'd love to check them out!

What a cute and original post! I like the first 2 best. I was thinking the 2nd one looked familiar and then I saw Blondie's comment and I think she's right about it being the Corning Ware pattern.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that aqua/turquoise one from Kerboodle!
ReplyDeleteThe second one does look like the Corning Cornflower Blue pattern!
ReplyDeleteI saw that one too recently at Worl Market...very cute! I love all the ones pictured, but the last is my favorite I think!
ReplyDeleteOh! I love them I can imagine (How I can watch in movies) a lady crossing the street with a cake for the new neighbour. :)

Love these-- there are so many different ones out there. I have a turquoise and chrome one that was my mother's; probably from the early 60s.
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnne,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the last one! It's got my colours on it, has a French country/English cottage kind of feel, and is simply charming! All are practical and pretty!

I so love old cake carriers! I've yet to buy one but I'm itching to. I wish we had a World Market here! I would buy that first one in a second!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in this week!

I have never seen any like this...I think I prefer the pink one! :) Fun post! :)
ReplyDeleteLove them all! Why don't they make fun things like this anymore?
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnne,
ReplyDeleteI've never seen cake carriers at World Market. That one is my fave but all the others are pretty neat too. I remember my Grandma had one with a glass bottom and silver lid. I bet she still has it!
Have a great weekend!

These are Super Sweet! My favorite is the one from Kaboodle. Love that color! I am visiting from A Favorite Thing Saturday and am your newest follower. Please stop by Still Woods Farmhouse for a visit! I have a cake made that we could put in one of those cake carriers!
ReplyDeleteI love the 3rd one. Turquoise seems to be the color more and more bloggers love.

I like the pink one. I have always wanted a cake holder that has a top that can be locked on and a handle. Then I see myself being super cool and going on a picnic in some lovely forest by a stream. I guess I'm just a daydreaming girl:)
ReplyDeleteReally hard to choose but I love the first one with Patisserie on it. They're all fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable... I wonder if my mom still has our yellow 50's cake carrier? I doubt it, but I'm sure hoping so! TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnne! Oh my, they are ALL gorgeous! But the second one with the blue (cornflowers?) on the chippy white background made my heart skip a beat! LOVE this post!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting and leaving comments on our crazy Baby cat!... Donna
Hi Joanne! Oh, I just love these cake pans and I'd take any one you would give me!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
***sigh*** I have always wanted a vintage cake carrier. I've almost bought one a time or two also. I just can't bring myself to bring one home though. I don't know what I would do with it.
ReplyDeleteAre you Ok Joanne? I miss you...
