NEW CHAIR PURCHASED ONLINE

Last summer we bought a new chair for our family room.
It's the Voltaire Lounge Chair from Home Decorators.
I had my eye on it for awhile and waited until they had
a really good sale to buy it.

The image below is how it looks on their website.
The color is called natural linen but it's really
more of a light gray than it appears on their site.
I was a little disappointed by that but otherwise
we have been very happy with the chair and it's
really very comfortable.




I like that it has so many nice details like the tufting
 and the nailhead trim on the arms.


My favorite detail is the wooden feet with the casters!

I know I sound like a commercial for Home Decorators but
 unfortunately they are not paying me for this post.
Just wanted to show you my chair and mention
that sometimes it is worth taking a chance to purchase 
furniture that you have only seen online.
I think it can be very scary but sometimes you can
get really good deals.
The total that we paid for this chair came to just under $300.
 Not too bad.


By the way, the little pillow is by Cath Kidston and I 
 purchased it from Ebay ~ I think it looks really cute on the chair.

    I love that chair! I'm always afraid to order online because it's so difficult to see the color. I just did a post about chair shopping last week. :) It's hard!

    Good for you for taking a leap of faith and purchasing a chair on line. Very glad to hear it was comfortable, unlike many chairs in stores which look good but are hard as rocks.,BTW was the shipping real expensive? Or reasonable?

    I am nervous buying big ticket items online, not that I often buy big ticket items. I am looking for a blue and white quilt and found one I really like. It is much more than I want to spend and I hesitate buying it in case I don't like the fabric when I touch it. But, the internet opens up the possibilities for us.

    I love your chair design. It is more formal than my funky little cottage, but so pretty.

Family Room Reveal

Hello Everyone! I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm  finally doing it - yeah!! I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I  saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold.   It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room. As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us. AFFORDABLE WALL DECOR

Hi Everyone, One of the things I find the most difficult about decorating is finding wall decor that I like and is also affordable. That is one of the main things that I am always on the hunt for and sometimes I have to come up with some creative ideas. Just yesterday, I found this beautiful image of a  white hydrangea at The Graphics Fairy . The Graphics Fairy I printed it out in a size that would fit in a frame that  I already had.  I think it looks so pretty in the simple white frame. I'm probably going to hang it in our bedroom. I'm making a few small changes in there and I will show you when it's completed. This star is actually from the garden section of our local Meijer store.  It was originally silver metal and I spray painted it white. I have seen a lot of people decorate with bread boards.
