I always love when I walk into someone's home and their entryway is pretty and inviting.
Its just a good feeling and then of course, I want to see more.
Well I was ready for a new look in our entry but it's a bit narrow and difficult to find
small pieces of furniture that will work without crowding the area too much.
I love cute little stools and benches and I actually have a small collection
at this point so I decided to try one of them in the entry.
I liked it, but it didn't seem like enough and there was too much
space between the bench and the mirror.
So then I tried stacking a smaller bench on top.
It was looking better and after adding a few accessories I think it did the trick.
Adding something large like this galvanized bucket full of faux lavendar makes a
very pretty statement as you walk in the door.
This one little white pumpkin is a nice seasonal touch too.
Now I have a new look in the entry and also this is my view from our
kitchen doorway so it's nice to have a pretty view from there as well.
Don't you love quick, easy and inexpensive decorating?
Me too!

Your entryway looks lovely. I've been doing a bit of re-decorating with things that I already have as well. We had a garage sale last weekend and I found so many wonderful things still in boxes and bins from our move last year. One stop shopping!! : ) Have a beautiful weekend!! xo

JoAnne- I LOVE It! I think there is something novel about stacking pieces like that and the overall 'feel' it creates. It is homey and welcoming all at once...and the perfect size if you have a narrow entryway.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend- xo Diana
I absolutely love this! You do come up with the best ideas for using your space. I love the way you take simple things and make them look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt did do the trick for sure. This looks so great. The benches have lots of character. Your entry way says helloooo and please come in and get cozy! Great vignette for your entry.

Stacking the benches is something I would never have thought of and it looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love rustic little benches and stacking them really makes a statement in your entryway. Love the bucket filled with faux lavender, too!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have displayed your benches! Everything is better with a friend...even in decor! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get all that faux lavender? Could buy real lavender here but is expensive like everything, people act like everything has gold running thru it.
ReplyDeleteYour lavender looks so pretty in bucket. We used to make several different designs of small little stools and benches like yours when we lived in MT. Was one of best sellers.
We still have 3 or 4 of couple different sizes and colors, they're so versatile.Yours look so cute stacked, you do that so well. We us bigger one in our room for taking shoes off and on,hubs made it for me for anniversary in MT. They last forever made out of pine. Maybe we should make them again to sell.
Hope you have wonderful week
Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did it looks just perfect! Thank you so much for joining us at th DI & DI Link Party also, we hope you enjoyed it :-)

In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.
ReplyDeleteFor some strange reason this post didn't come up in my blog reader until now! I LOVE what you've done in your entry. I don't have much of an entry - we walk right into the living room - so I've tried to create the feeling of a small entry area. Your arrangement is an inspiration!

So pretty, JoAnn! In our new house I want to concentrate on having less things that are more beautiful - like you have. :)
