Patriotic Decor You Just May Have to Have

The 4th of July is two weeks away so it's not too late to
pick up a couple new cute things to help celebrate the holiday.
Here are a few I think you might like.

Pretty red, white and blue flowers on this grapevine wreath.
The unique flower with the flag print is made of paper.
This would be the perfect welcoming touch on your front door.

Here is some melamine dinnerware with a sort of
distressed or denim blue color.
This would be great for a 4th of July BBQ or just about anytime really.
Melamine is so lightweight and no worries about breakage.

I love the simple star design on these cloth napkins.
They could be used with the melamine dishes above or
 just some plain white plates.

A pretty hand painted pitcher to serve your favorite drink!

Of course every holiday needs a banner.
 Isn't this one cute?

Chunky wooden firecrackers would make a great table display.

I love the unique design on this large wooden star.
You could hang this just about anywhere.

We can never have too many pillows so why not one with a cute
red, white and blue anchor to help celebrate independence day?

These next two little boats would look so cute together
and they could be used all year long too.

Isn't this wooden sign just so sweet?
I may really have to have one of these.

These signs are pretty cute too - oh the decisions!

Did you see anything you can't resist?
Like many of you, I'm trying to simplify and not keep buying
more stuff but I just may have to allow myself one new thing to
celebrate the 4th of July this year.

  1. Cute, cute, cute! :)

  2. I haven't been buying anything lately. No room, and I have to pay for the computer I just got recently. I can't believe I don't have one bit of July 4th decor. I love all of these!

  3. Super cute. Love it all. Happy Summer.

  4. Like you, I'm trying to simplify. I do like the World Market banner and napkins - they would be very easy to store and wouldn't take much space! I recently inherited my dear, little mother's July Fourth decorations. As I work through things at her home I'm sorting and deciding what decorations need to find a place in my home. You've inspired me - again! It's time to celebrate and decorate!

  5. I'm very late to check that post... But I'm in love with the big wooden star and the anchor pillow!

Farmhouse Style In My Kitchen

Wow! Farmhouse style has really taken off, hasn't it? I love it just as much as many of you out there. One of the great things about it is that it's fairly easy to add  to your decor and it can be relatively inexpensive too.
Here are a few recent finds for my kitchen that I think give it a little more of that farmhouse feeling.

Now this one is pretty obvious considering it has the word "FARM" right on it  : ) This came from a little shop I went to while we were on vacation  and it really inspired me to add a few more farmhouse style accessories.

I have admired these vintage scales forever and I finally found one on Ebay  that I thought would look great in my kitchen and was also a reasonable price. Boy, some of them are really pricey!

Any good farmhouse has to have a rooster, right? A quick little project I did was add blue grain sack stripes to this white wooden rooster. I think he is pretty proud of them!

Of course mason jars and pretty little flowers bring on th…

Home For The Holidays ~ Entry, Family Room and Kitchen

I have always loved the phrase "Home for the Holidays". Even though we are taking a short trip right before Christmas, we will be back in time to enjoy Christmas at home.

Of course, home can be wherever the people I love will be.
That's the most important thing and the most necessary ingredient.

But I don't mind if it also includes a cute little reindeer.

And a decorated mantel.

A Christmas tree, of course.

Pretty packages.

And a cozy kitchen with little bits of Christmas sprinkled around.

Christmas also includes our cute kitty with visions of sugarplums dancing
in his little head . . . or kitty treats, whichever.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.
I know there are so many beautiful homes to visit right now.

Hope your Christmas is Merry and Bright!

Strawberries Are Not Just For Eating

I don't know about you, be we sure do eat a lot of strawberries this time of year. I've also been noticing a lot of very cute strawberry inspired items for the home and I thought I would share some of them with you.
Here are some faux strawberries that could be used in some fun summer decorating. Don't they look real? You might have to warn people not to eat them!

Here's a sweet little vintage shaker - perfect for shaking some powdered sugar
on those fresh strawberries.

Isn't this jam pot adorable?

So cute and unique for your spices.
I am sure tea must taste better when using a tea kettle decorated with strawberries.

I love this strainer with it's black and strawberry theme - so original! source
Strawberry shortcake is a favorite of mine - so good! You can keep the recipe hanging right on your wall.
