HAPPY HOLLOW ~ MY DREAM HOME

I have something special to show you today. A long, long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away . . ha ha) I tore  this picture out of a furniture store advertising catalog. I thought this was just about the most dreamy house I had ever seen ~ it looks like something from a storybook. I haven't kept very many of the pictures that I had torn out of  magazines over the years, but I never threw this one away. So recently I was perusing the HOUZZ site and just happened to come across this house.  I immediately recognized it as the house I had torn out of that catalog so long ago. I was thrilled to see more photos of this house that is  appropriately named Happy Hollow. I love just about every detail on this house . . . arched portico stone columns  cottage style shutters large stone pathway even the rows of geraniums on the windowsills . . . what's not to love, right? . . . inviting c...

Fresh Mantel for Spring

Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Friday was a beautiful sunny day here so it motivated me to freshen up our mantel. I just pulled out things that I already had and created  a spring vignette. Of course I had to include some pretty spring blooms. I love using aqua mason jars too ~ the color just seems so  perfect for spring. { Well actually, it's perfect for just about every season I think. } These jars were purchased at barn sales for just  a couple dollars each. And the silver tray in the back is from the Dollar Store. Can you see how beautifully the sun was streaming in that day? Oh I hope we have more days like that soon! Thanks so much for coming by to see my mantel!! source "Hippity, Hoppety, Easter's On Its Way" { Did you start singing? } Wishing you all a Happy, Warm and Blessed Easter!! ~ JoAnne
Hello, everyone! I'm Mari from Arcadian Home blog, a wonderful place to find lots of interior design inspiration including fabulous ideas for lighting from bathroom light fixtures to lovely little wall sconces. I'm so excited to be visiting with you here at A Pocketful of Blue with a guest post about charming farmhouse bathrooms. For your decorating inspiration, I've pulled together some of my favorite country bathroom designs from across the United States and around the world. It seems just about every country has its own treasured farmhouses. Please enjoy! This farmhouse style bath in the guest house of a San Juan Islands, Washington, compound shows the beauty of simplicity that is evident in many country bathrooms. A white clawfoot tub is the centerpiece of the room's design. The bathroom of a country home called Casa Atmella in Spain is a wonderful mix of rustic and contemporary. One of my favorite elements is the use of baskets instead of the requisi...

Stylish Kitchen Faucet

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Moen, Incorporated for SocialSpark . All opinions are 100% mine. We all love a beautiful kitchen but we often don't have the budget for a major renovation.  One way to add some fresh style for a relatively small amount of money is to change out your kitchen faucet.   Kiran Spot Resist one-handle pulldown kitchen faucet Moen makes some beautiful faucets and one of them is the Moen Kiran Spot resistant kitchen faucet.  This faucet would look great in any style decor.  I have a cottage style kitchen and I can totally see this faucet with my sink but I could see it just as easily in a more modern or even a rustic style kitchen. I love the high arch pull down design and the fact that its lovely finish resists fingerprints and water spots is wonderful.  Anything that stays looking nice without a lot of cleaning or maintenance on my part is a winner with me. The Kiran's pulldown ...

Easter Eggs and Bunnies

Gosh, you guys, it has taken me FOREVER  to get some Spring and Easter  decorations going on at my house but I finally got to it. It's almost all things I already had too. And then the sun finally came out so I grabbed the camera! I started noticing that it's all Easter eggs and Easter bunnies so  those must be my favorite things for Spring. I put some plain white hard boiled eggs in a basket with some  shredded paper and wrapped a piece of the paper around each egg. I placed it on my most favorite little table in our dining area. ~ ❀ ~  ❀ ~  ❀ ~  ❀ ~  ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~  I decorated these plastic eggs with paint a couple years ago.  I put them in this cute basket I found at Walmart this year.
