Cherry Blossoms and a Thank You

Hi Everyone,
We were in Washington DC recently for spring break.
I thought I would share some pictures of the cherry blossoms that were in bloom.

Aren't they pretty?  They surround the entire Jefferson Memorial!

We also visited Mount Vernon while we were there.
  What an amazing place!
We weren't allowed to take pictures inside but here are a few outside.

It's such a beautiful and peaceful place to just walk around and enjoy.
It sits right on the Potomac River.
  Definitely worth the trip.

A heartfelt thank you to Robin at All Things Heart and Home for featuring my post on Spring Color.
Robin has a fantastic blog and she has an All Things Inspired party every Wednesday.
So head on over and show us what inspires you!

Thanks so much for visiting!

A HOUSE ON A LAKE

Many of us dream of having a beach house but when you don't live anywhere near the ocean, a house on a lake might be a more realistic possibility. Lake houses or cabins tend to be a little more rustic and cozy, I think, and there's something to be said for being surrounded by tall trees, the sounds of nature, and possibly a few critters. Here are a few lake houses I found on Houzz.   Some small, some bigger, some more rustic than others. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Family Room Reveal

Hello Everyone!
I've been meaning to post about our updated family room for a very long time and I'm
 finally doing it - yeah!!
I had been ready to replace our brown leather furniture for a while and when a new Ikea opened very close to us last summer, I jumped at the chance to take a good look at their slipcovered furniture. Originally the plan was to buy another sofa and loveseat like we had but when I  saw the Ektorp sectional on the showroom floor at Ikea, I was sold.   It just seemed so cozy and I could really envision it in our family room.

As you can see, we purchased the sectional with the white slipcover. You just can't beat the prices at Ikea and the quality is definitely good enough for us.
I'm at a point where I don't want to buy expensive furniture that I feel like I
have to keep forever.   We even had the sofa delivered and they took away the old sofa and loveseat  for a very small fee.

We purchased this dresser from Wayfair to use as a TV console an…
